Sharp Sheriff of the Week

Say howdy to our newest Sharp Sheriff of the week, Cole.  Cole loved showing off his pictures today.  He has lots of interests but his favorite subject in school is art.  He is also very talented at playing video games.  His favorite color is red and he loves eating spaghetti!  Cole is going to be an excellent Sheriff this week!

Sheriffs with Crazy Socks

Friday's pledges earned us Crazy Sock Day!  There are so many wacky, crazy socks to choose from!  These Sheriffs really enjoyed showing their socks off!
Sharp Sheriff Sock Showcase! Can you pick out your little sheriff's feet?

Sharp Sheriffs Boosterthon Update!

Here are the Sharp Sheriffs that earned prizes for the pledges that they collected over the weekend!  Wow!  Our class is doing such a great job!  They have earned 2 incentives tomorrow: Wild Hair Day and Backward T-Shirt Day!  I am so proud of the enthusiasm that they have brought to this project!  Go Sharp Sheriffs!
Joshua and Jasmine were all smiles when Turbo Taylor handed them their prizes!
Reagan is a girl that can't be stopped!  She has earned a prize every single day since we started!  Amazing!

Aaron was really pumped when he was handed all of his prizes today!  Excellent Job!

Sharp Sheriffs Slurping Smoothies

Waiting for smoothies can be hard work! These Sheriffs stayed calm and cool!

Smoothies can really hit the spot! Look at how happy the smoothies made these sheriffs!

These Sheriffs are Smart Board Savvy!

This week many sheriffs had the opportunity to go to the Smart Board and show their work.  They did an outstanding job, and I have a feeling that they know more about technology than I do!  After viewing these pictures, I believe that you are going to agree with me!
Lawson's turn at the Smart Board arrived when his name stick was pulled, and he didn't hesitate one second to show the class he knew the date!
Gracie didn't let a little thing like height get in her way!  She was showing that she knew how to skip count on a hundreds chart!
Ke'ron is showing he can master skip counting on the Smart Board!  This is so impressive!

Sheriffs Showing Their Work

These Sheriffs have sure worked hard over the last week!!  They wanted to show off their handy work, and I wanted to brag!  Hold on to your boot straps!
Ellyson is showing that she can represent one number in expanded form, standard form, word form, and she can draw the number with place value! Awesome job!

Jamil is building a number using manipulatives!  I think his smile says it all!  Way to go!

Carter is on a roll!  He is showing the different forms to represent 3 different numbers! Wow!
Jasmine went the extra mile and became really creative with her math homework!  She sure knows how to make her teacher smile!!!

Do you think Dylan might be ready for his spelling test?  I sure do!  This is super creative!

David did a great job sharing his math homework.  He explained each form of the number and how he got his answers.  He even color coded his hundreds, tens, and ones!  That was amazing!
Ke'ron sure knows how to represent his numbers!  Here he not only built the number he also wrote it in expanded form!  Isn't he incredible?  I sure think so!!!

Aaron doesn't live in the old wild west!  He did a fantastic job going to the Smart Board, rolling the dice, and writing the number in expanded form!  I was super impressed!

Boosterthon Fun Run

Our fantastic PTA is having a fundraiser over the next week.  Every student has been challenged to collect pledges for every lap that they can complete on Fun Run Day Sept. 1.  The students are also learning about character and working together as a team.  To kick this fundraiser off, we had a pep rally that raised the roof with energy and eagerness.  I loved seeing all the enthusiasm and thought that you might want to see it too.  Sharp Sheriffs can cheer with the best of them!!

The Boosterthon members even visited our classroom and Sheriff Reagan got us started on our class pledges!  It was so exciting!  We are super pumped!!!

These Sheriffs are checking out books from our class library.  They are practicing read to self.

Sheriffs Working Away

We have learned that there are 3 different ways to read a book.  The first way is reading the pictures followed by reading the words.  The last way is by retelling that story to someone.  The class worked in partners and retold a story that they had read and then took turns telling the class.  They did a great job public speaking and I was very proud!
These Sheriffs are reading some books from their book boxes.  Everyone wave howdy to Andrew!

Our Sharp Sheriff of the Week

Meet Anna!  She is our very first "Sharp Sheriff."  Anna's favorite subject in school is reading and her favorite activity is art.  She adores eating pizza and the color orange!  Anna is doing an excellent job of leading our "posse" down the hall and taking care of any special errands that I may need her to complete.  This Sheriff is awesome.
